Meet the Partners

Tony Cipolla, Partner
As a founding partner of CBM, Tony brings a great deal of practical experience to the CBM team.
Tony is a graduate of the Chartered Accountants of Canada (CICA) In-Depth Income Tax course. He specializes in corporate reorganizations related to family businesses. In addition, he has served many professionals in the medical, dental and legal fields, as well as many family owned businesses.
Tony also specializes in consulting clients on business acquisitions, mergers and sales.

Peter Bartens, Partner
Peter specializes in providing a practical, personalized, hands-on approach with family owned businesses in the contracting, property development, medical, dental and financial services sectors. He also enjoys tackling the IT needs of the firm and its clients. Peter graduated in 1978 with a bachelor of commerce degree from McMaster University. He articled for Grant Thornton from 1978 to 1984 during which time he received his CA designation. He joined CBM in 1984 and became a partner in 1986.

Joseph Monachino, Partner
Joe was raised in an active family retail and importing business. With a personal understanding of small business needs, Joe attended McMaster University and graduated with a bachelor of commerce degree. After obtaining his CA designation with a national firm, he joined CBM and became a partner. He has continually been involved with local non-profit organizations and is the past president of the Order Sons of Italy (Hamilton) Lodge, past treasurer of the National Council, and is presently a board member for the Charitable Corporation.

Vito Sgro, Partner
Born and raised in Hamilton, Vito attended the University of Western Ontario, graduating with Bachelor's degrees in biology and finance and economics. Vito has worked with many firms in the area and has also served as an auditor/appeals officer for Her Majesty's Department of National Revenue. Involved with many political and charitable organizations in the area, Vito is now a director on the board of The Hamilton Port Authority, where he also serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
